April 2025 Visa Bulletin: What's Coming?

Here's a quick take on what might happen in the April 2025 Visa Bulletin. Nothing's set in stone, but this should give you a decent idea of what to expect.

Employment-Based Visas

EB-1 (Priority Workers)

  • India & China: Might move forward 2-3 weeks.
  • Everyone else: Staying current.

EB-2 (Advanced Degrees)

  • India: Could jump 3-4 weeks to early Jan 2013.
  • China: Likely moving ahead 3-4 weeks to late May 2020.
  • Other countries: Might see slight retrogression.

EB-3 (Skilled Workers & Pros)

  • India: Expected to advance 3-4 weeks to late Feb 2013.
  • China: Likely moving 4-5 weeks to early Sept 2020.
  • Others: Might roll back a bit.

EB-4 & EB-5

  • EB-4: Could retrogress further, maybe back to July 2019.
  • EB-5: Not much movement expected.

Family-Based Visas

Not much change, but a couple of possible moves:

  • F3 (Married Sons & Daughters of U.S. Citizens - Philippines): Might move up 1-2 months.
  • F4 (Siblings of U.S. Citizens - Philippines): Could advance 1-2 months.

Things to Watch

  • EB-2 & EB-3 Retrogression? - Demand's high, so some rollbacks are possible.
  • EB-4 Might Shut Down - If demand keeps up, this category could become "Unavailable."
  • Diversity Visa (DV) Cutoffs Vary - Africa's at 30,000; North America (Bahamas) just 20.
  • Slow & Steady Advances - The State Department's being extra cautious, so expect small movements.
  • Fewer Visas This Year - With lower numbers for FY 2025, progress will likely be slow.

Bottom Line

April could be a mixed bag—some small jumps, but also possible slowdowns. If you're in the process, stay on top of updates and plan for some delays.
